When I arrived it was a bit of a free for all but luckily I didn’t have
to queue. Inside natural lighting was
used to its optimum level. Pink orchids separated
the seating area from the counter and paper thin wooden lampshades wrapped with pink
ribbon hung from the ceiling, adding a colourful
touch to the already buzzing atmosphere.
I was shown to my one box packed lunch which
included a menu (but no prices) popcorn and a drink. It also only came with chopsticks in a ‘learn
to use them or go without’ vein of thought.
Luckily around the corner were all sorts of western cutlery and a 'pimp your
potsu' station with an array of sauces and seeds.
It was a real shame that there wasn’t a chance to sample more of the
menu as there were several flavours of random confectionery available and the wasabi
flavour popcorn that was in my packed lunch was a little too strong for my
taste. The salmon sushi was fresh and tasty though I did notice some of the
white ‘stringy bits’ showing it may not have been top quality fish that was used.
All in all I really do have very little to complain about and am looking forward to my next trip. Whoever said there’s
no such thing as a free lunch!
Have you ever been to Itsu?

I haven't been yet (couldn't make the opening as I was working!) but I'm going to have to pop in when I'm in Cambridge as I've never actually been to a sushi restaurant yet!
